Alcoba, a recent Moto3 and Moto2 rider, will face the 4.411km long Magny Cours circuit for the first time this coming weekend, racing his Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R 636 for the ninth time this season.
Although neither Jeremy nor his machine have experienced race or test action at the Magny Cours circuit, the Kawasaki WorldSSP Team have recently taken part in an important single-day test session at the Spanish circuit of Motorland Aragon.
Jeremy hopes to be able to fight for a podium place once again, with his current best WorldSSP race finish being fifth place, which he secured during the opening round at Phillip Island in Australia.
Alcoba will be aiming for a strong qualifying performance to allow him to fight inside the leading group in each of the 19-lap WorldSSP races at Magny Cours.
The weekend schedule for Magny Cours sees Superpole Qualifying take place on Friday 5 September, then Race One gets underway on Saturday, followed by Race Two on Sunday. The WorldSSP races are scheduled for 15.15 on 6 September and an earlier 14.00 on 7 September.
The next race weekend after Magny Cours, Round Ten, will be held at the Motorland Aragon circuit, between 26-28 September.
Jeremy Alcoba stated: “I never stopped training during the summer break, and the testing at Motorland Aragon gave me another push. We tried some new solutions that could be very useful for the rest of the season, and that allowed me to find feeling with my bike again. The Magny Cours track is new to me, so I’ll need to learn it fast - for now, I’m studying it with the PlayStation and videos on YouTube.”
